two reactors at Plant Vogtle, near Waynesboro, GA; two reactors at Plant Hatch, near Baxley, GA; and two reactors at Plant Farley, near Dothan, AL. In addition, planning and excavation activities are underway for the future construction of two new reactors at our Plant Vogtle location. We have an opportunity for a Site Projects Sr. Manager at Plant Farley near Dothan, Alabama. This position will require the candidate to live within a commuting distance of the plant. Southern Nuclear Operating Company's Fleet Projects organization provides leadership to deliver solutions to improve project delivery, plant performance, and increase regulatory margin. We are seeking an experienced individual for the Site Projects Senior Manager role. The Site Projects Senior Manager provides strategic direction, vision, establishes initiatives/priorities for the station, and is responsible for all phases of the project lifecycle from initiation through closure. The Site Projects Senior Manager is responsible for managing the entire project capital portfolio, including recommendations and actions to balance the capital portfolio, continuous identification of unbudgeted/unprojected capital risks and opportunities, and updating monthly/annual projections. The position provides leadership to ensure projects are safely executed on schedule, within authorized cost limits, with consideration of nuclear safety, personnel safety, and radiological dose. The Site Projects Senior Manager is directly responsible for project management and project implementation personnel and is required to provide leadership, feedback, and direction to project controls and engineering personnel where appropriate. This position is a member of the Site Senior Leadership Team. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
(Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills) Education/Experience Preferences:
o Bachelor's degree in a related discipline required with a Bachelor's degree in engineering being preferred, or current/previous Senior Reactor Operator license required with high school diploma or GED equivalent. o Advanced degrees, Professional Engineer (PE) license, Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license, and other degrees/certifications are a plus. o Project Management certification (PMP) is a plus. Background/Experience Requirements:
oEight (8) years of nuclear power experience in Engineering, Projects, Maintenance, Work Management, or Operations is required. 10 years experience in these fields is preferred. o Minimum of three (3) years in a supervisor/manager position is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities o Build and sustain relationships across all levels of the organization including executive management and external stakeholders such as the NRC, INPO, etc. o Focus on understanding the business and leveraging that knowledge to partner with management to identify and monitor strategic, financial, operational and compliance risks, including emerging trends o Apply excellent business acumen, leveraging analytical skills, to perform risk assessments, and develop/manage the capital portfolio o Develop, support, and lead department/station initiatives o Lead, through example, to develop a culture of continuous improvement o Hire, coach and manage a qualified staff, including performance management, goal setting, work prioritization and appropriate delegation of work assignments o Participate in appropriate external organizations to obtain personal and professional training and development, as well as identify and implement leading practices within Fleet Projects o The ability to solve problems and make sound judgments, based on experience and proper risk evaluation tools, to provide timely and appropriate resolutions to issues that might impact personnel safety, plant performance, budget, and project execution. o The ability to communicate issues and drive problem resolution through various levels of management. o Ability to effectively interface, build, and sustain relationships with other departments. o Working knowledge of plant operations and maintenance practices. o Thorough knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. o Excellent written and oral communications skills. Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
